Do you enjoy reading 9 page documents written in stilted Soviet era bureaucratese? Are you interested in the minutia of Soviet Cold War counterintelligence operations? Have I got good news for you!
I present:
Information about the Work of the 4th Department of the 2nd Directorate on the Preparation and Implementation of the Chekist Active Measures against the Intelligence Services of the FRG from Counterintelligence Positions in 1967.
https://digitalarchive.wilsoncenter.org/document/104560/download
2nd directorate is, as you know, counterintelligence and the 4th department is activities against the federal republic of German (FRG).
Really fascinating stuff. Highly recommended

28000 apps send data to TikTok. Leeching as much information as possibly is the norm for mobile applications. Reselling that data is endemic, it’s a core part of the ecosystem.
Treating a single app as a source of data leakage ignores the reality that all apps extract data, and most of that data is enriched, repackaged and sold (and resold). The problem is the system that extracts and distributes that data, not any one app. The solution is legislation to protect people by making data toxic.
Naturally the problem here is that users have no lobby promoting their interests, while the exploiters of data make fortunes from the status quo.
