Hat-tip to @taviso - you can extract a slice of an array in GDB, e.g.
(gdb) print my_array[50] @ 10
will show ten elements starting from element 50.
You can even watch a slice of an array (though if it's too big GDB will fall back to horribly slow software watchpoints)
